Everyone knows that George W. Bush is a blithering idiot, but now we finally have some data, albeit fake, to back it up.
Apparently the Lovenstein Institute (does not actually exist) has been tracking presidential I.Q. for some time and George W. Bush is right where he belongs at the bottom of the barrel. Coming in at 91, he’s just slightly dumber than his father who managed to come out some seven points ahead of him at 98.
It turns out that this is a hoax, but it makes for a pretty funny story anyhow…

Since 1973, the Lovenstein Institute has published its research to the educational community on each new president, which includes the famous “IQ” report among others. There have been twelve presidents over the past 50 years, from F.D. Roosevelt to G.W. Bush, who were rated based on scholarly achievements, writings that they produced without aid of staff, their ability to speak with clarity, and several other psychological factors, which were then scored using the Swanson/Crain system of intelligence ranking.
The study determined the following IQs of each president as accurate to within five percentage points:

Among comments made concerning the specific testing of President GW Bush, his low ratings are due to his apparently difficult command of the English language in public statements, his limited use of vocabulary (6,500 words for Bush versus an average of 11,000 words for other presidents), his lack of scholarly achievements other than a basic MBA, and an absence of any body of work which could be studied on an intellectual basis. The complete report documents the methods and procedures used to arrive at these ratings, including depth of sentence structure and voice stress confidence analysis. “All the Presidents prior to George W. President Bush,” Dr. Lovenstein said. “He has no published works or writings, which made it more difficult to arrive at an assessment. We relied more heavily on transcripts of his unscripted public speaking.”
Bush is not that stupid. Granted, he does not has a silver tongue like Bill Clinton, the man is no dummy.
Clinton still talks like a country boy. The difference in Bill and George is that Clinton can get caught up in critiscm and shake it off and make you think that he still smells like roses (when in fact we know that he is full of shit). Bush does not give a damn what you think.
Even though Bush looks stupid, I would have to say that I admire him more for sticking with a set of values. Clinton adopts the value of the “moment”.
But if I had a choice between the two as to who I would prefer spout off and launch into a public speech, ole Bill would still rule…

Well, if Bush does have a low IQ, that just goes to show that IQ won’t make or break you in this world. Fact of the matter is, he became president of the US. He finished both of his terms in office. And he had to deal with some tough issues while in it. So, anybody can speculate & second-guess what he could have & should have done. But, he did more with his life than most of my countrymen did with theirs.
His dad’s name and money and his own willingness to sell out. With that combination, anybody can become president. Those factors remaining equal, someone with a low IQ just stands a better chance

The IQs listed are untrue. John Kennedy had a tested IQ of 117 whille the younger Bush had a tesed IQ of 125.
Well, Jimmy Carter did do his graduate studies in nuclear physics and was the chief engineering officer on the U.S. Navy’s second nuclear submarine, the Sea Wolf.
Prior to taking office (and after leaving the Navy), he took over his father’s agricultural business and turned it into a thriving business. Most of our presidents have never run a business in their life – much less a thriving one.
Upon leaving office, he has become one of the most prolific authors of all former U.S. Presidents, writing at least 20 books on a variety of subjects.
While Jimmy Carter may not have been our best president, I think he’s a certainly an intelligent man. He’s only one of four U.S. Presidents to win the Nobel Peace Prize – which is a truly amazing achievement.
So, while the IQ scores above are a joke, I wouldn’t dismiss the peanut farmer from Georgia as a dim wit. He’s a very smart guy with a lifetime of achievements to back it up.

Clinton in my perception does not possess an IQ of 180+. I would estimate upper 130′s to 140. People with IQ’s in the 180 range are quite abstract and really can be quite theoretical. They deal with abstractions and are sometime quite eccentric as their view of the world is quite skewed from the norm. They are truly outliers. Clinton is to mainstream. But one might say he is really that smart and playing a game. I highly doubt it.
Newton and Aristotle had that kind of gift but to put Clinton on that neurological scale no way
One other thing… People push high iq scores around like carter sells liver pills. I get sick of it. 120′s is high.
Obama is in the 120′s to 130 in my perception. And Bush is no dummy as many claim. He can make connections and follow arguments and is certainly above the 90′s which some claim. Unfortunately, he has no camera appeal or presence and his vocal delivery is not fantastic. Don’t judge people’s iq by their vocal delivery. IQ is really the ability to understand things and figure abstract problems out.
